burning the midnight oil.

It's 5.13 am and I haven't switched off the light yet. the room mate already wakes up. she wakes up early everyday to perform Sunat prayer and I'm still awake doing something not related to religious duties. kalau ayah tahu ni mesti kena lecture setengah jam like he always did when I was at high school heh.

eh no no. not studying Arabic instead huhu. I'm just fulfilling the KPI of MRC. this is the third one i prepared but will be the first one to take place for REAL. I've done two proposals before but both of them were not approved due to some technical problems and time constraint, apart from my tiredness in handling two big University events (Sports Carnival and IMCDW) without much helps. so this is it; my very first Mahallah program :)

since it hasn't be submitted to the Principal yet, it's better to keep the event a secret. private and confidential haha. but since I'm in charge of Culture and Arts bureau, any programs under me would be the fun and joyous ones only.
.
anyway, this program is in conjuction with a BIG event of Mahallah Asiah on this coming July. for god's sake, we've been discussing on it even before second semester ended months ago. the event will be held insyaAllah in a week time, with lots of programs in it including those managed by me.
.
ha this is what I like being a MRC. I get to be a program manager. kalau tak guys je yg selalu hold the position. sebelum2 ni pun I always be their assistant.
.
I'll be managing two programs. (tapi proposal baru 1 completed) it's totally hard for me when my fellow in charge is far far away from me. she's in a long vacation with her family at the States. but Alhamdulillah everything goes well so far. wish it will be a blast one later!
~~~
*I'm in dilemma whether to continue my position in MRC or not. if I do, I'll be promoted to the mainboard. the heart says NO, because my pointer has dropped. the desire says YES, because it prepares me to do well in the future and gives me good experiences and memories to keep! need to ask my parents and sisters as well. need to make a right decision now so that bad things won't happen again. na'uzubillah, o Allah, keep me away from that. need to list up the pros and cons. okay. will do. praying...*
I'm not a bad person.
(this is not a self-compliment)
dear you,
you've known me for years.
I'm not a bad person.
I don't hold any grudges against anybody.
I just need more time to think.
and to be strong again.
so many things happened to me lately.
I just couldn't focus on anything else but those troubled things.
don't call me an egoist,
cause I'm not.
I'm just a weak, secretive person who hides all pains in her smiles.
and her total silence.
when the time comes,
I'll take the first step and bridge the gap.
I'm not a bad person.
and so are you.
*you know who you are*
i like!
"Don’t cry for a man who’s left you,
the next one may fall for your smile"
-Mae West
May 11, 2010.
unlike usual my day began way earlier. 6.45am- i was standing in front of Asiah's office, waiting for another two MRCs. half asleep. thanks for the bus driver for giving us a lift to the main staircase. 7.05am- the three of us were already late but jeez, excluding us only four people were there. thought we had missed the bus but surprisingly we were among the first ones. bla bla bla we arrived at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre around 9am or in other words, 1 hour late. the convention had already started and for god's sake by the time we entered the hall and were looking for seats, all of sudden we became the subject of the speaker. if i'm not mistaken he said something like 'pemimpin mesti selalu menepati masa. bukan datang sejam lewat'. sangat malu okayyy.
.
it was Kongres Integriti Pemimpin Mahasiswa 2010
.
with a slogan "1Malaysia Berintegriti: Mahasiswa Melestari".
.
the participants were all MPPs of IPT and IPTS from all over Malaysia.
overall, though it was a bit boring but i kinda liked it. to be honest i couldn't really understand most of the speeches because the speakers were all speaking the advanced Malay language. well, you can't expect me to understand such so-called-bombastic words like 'melestari', 'mencanai', 'menggarap', etc. duh. perlu belajar lagi bahasa ibunda. bahasa melayu saya tak hebat. sebab tu tak pernah join debat melayu.
.
apart from those hard-to-grasp speeches i still enjoyed the convention because i do love participating in such prestigious events,
because the food was yummy,
and because of him,
Prof. Madya Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki Dato' Haji Dasuki is currently the Head of Research Affairs, International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA). some interesting facts (for me) about him are that he graduated from IIUM years ago and was once an Assistant Professor at the KENMS. oh yea, he is a politician too. i love his speech. to be honest, his was the only one i really2 listened to during that conference. i just couldn't take my eyes off him. the impromptu speech was inspiring, excellent, superb, and most importantly islamic. he was touching on the 'Integriti Pemimpin Mahasiswa: Merealisasi Harapan 1Malaysia Berintegriti'. mula2 dengar topik dah geleng2 kepala but he made it soo interesting with those Islamic aspects he included plus Quranic verses and Prophet's Ahadith he quoted in his speech. it was hilarious that i and kak wana kept guessing which Kuliyyah he was from. but yeah, his way of speaking (inclusion of religious terms) always fascinated me. way to go! bla bla bla... briefly, he did inspire me a lot. kudos to Dr. Asyraf :) glad that i've met another great person, and wish that someday, i can be like him. *praying*
maka sekarang should continue cramming for Arabic test tomorrow night. mesti dapatkan A!
to all, Bittaufiq Wannajah :)
p/s: in conjuction with Hari Belia Negara, there'll be a Karnival Kerjaya & Keusahawanan Graduan 2010 at PWTC, starting tomorrow, 14th until 16th of May.
what i like about short semester i'm taking.
short semester has just begun. though it's boring for some people, it's a pleasure for me. yeah, honestly though it's only one subject; Arabic language level 3.
.
.
i like it because i have more free time to study.
.
i like it bacause i get to do things i couldn't do on previous hectic long semester.
.
i like it because the new environment is silent and peaceful.
.
i like it because the new room mates are all nice.
.
i like it because the class is enjoyable and fun.
.
i like it because the lecturer is cool.
.
i like it because i can always go home :)
.
i like it because i don't really have to rush for classes.
.
i like it because the time is just nice for me to be on diet. i likeee!
.
i like it because i love Arabic :)
.
i like it because i won't be stressful again.
.
and so much more things...
.
a new post, finally!
it's been a while, huh. after some times (let me count...71 days?..) i eventually got the guts to continue writing here.
ohh, i just remembered how i loved blogging but due to a few events to be handled, tests, assignments, presentations, class projects and final exams, the favorite pastime just needed to be forgotten for a while.
yeah, the second semester has just ended last Friday.
so goodbye to the holy land but hell, will be hi-ing it back in 2 weeks time. sigh.
home now. ahh, what a relief. i just love being home. wish i won't have to go back to uia. staying with the beloved family and the lovely cats, i won't have anything more to ask.
plus the latest wonderful additions in my family, i'd never deny the arabic phrase; 'baiti jannati'.
as mentioned before, the short semester will begin in 2 weeks time. what i love the most is that i'll be taking an Arabic class ONLY. *grin* but hell, guess i've forgotten almost all Arabic vocabularies i've learnt during school times.
hmm since it's been a while since i last wrote here, i kind of have nothing to say.
eh no, i actually have loadss to say. there are so many things i missed to keep them here.
but yeah, im not that rajin jugak to write everything up here so lets just have some photos as recaps of what i've been doing, having and going through in previous time :)
IMCDW 2010
.
good day people. it's 1.48 in the morning, and, it's Saturday, January 30. and, i'm already at IIUM. and, the class will begin on Monday but i came back about 3 days earlier. duh?. and, instead of working on English Lit assignment or even preparing for Psychology mid term exam, i am now doing some stuffs for the coming IMCDW. the mid semester break which was not more than 5 days has been spent at home. yea, just home. during those heavenly days, i was just sleeping, eating, and relaxing. maybe i should just use the word 'hibernate'. works? they were never being unpacked. untouched. remained in the bag till end of the hols. gahh, gile pemalas. noooo, i was just tired of facing those things. my days at IIUM before were already killing me. thus i no longer wanted to see those books, documents at home or i'd vomit. ohh please. fine, done with mid sem break since it's already OVER.
.
now i'm back to the busiest plus melancholic days, at the hellish place. okay, stop babbling.
.
though ASEAN LOGICS has not begin yet i'd like to post about the IMCDW which will take place 2 days after it. well it's surely because i surely won't be having much time for such things like internet surfing, sleeping, and sleeping, and sleeping, bla bla. bukan lah nak kecoh ape kan but it's just my responsibility to promote this as Asiah's MRC and also my definite job as Asst. Head Comm for Publicity and Promotion bureau.
23rd december night- a night of satisfaction.
it's finally over.
our marching team didn't make it to the first place ;(
but homg we are the overall champion!
what a great satisfaction :)
thanks a LOT and congratulations to the hardworking VIPs; the Principal herself, the fellows who were also the advisors, the MRCs and BRCs who worked as working committees and game managers, the athletes, & any anyone involved!
.
after waiting for years, after being the second place for few times, we finally brought back the champion trophy! lols.
while were on duty at the FSC for basketball game. (it was raining at that time. so instead of capturing the players' or even the court itself, we were in the frame :) muke gile oily okayy )
the marchers during rehearsal night.
the bestie pun nak menyibuk jugak being my assistant for a night. lol.
except for the left one, these are the backbones for marching team; the mascot aka the ass. manager, the team manager, & kak Husna the trainer.
yeah, we made it!
MAHALLAH ASIAH the Champion!
.
"Look up, Get up, but Never Give up.
Together We Fight, Together We Win!"
.
special msg to the marchers;
.
congratulations, people. i really had a great time with all of you.
thanks a lot for everything. thanks a lot for the amazing moments.
HEART you so much :)
University Sport Carnival 2009
UNIVERSITY SPORT CARNIVAL 2009
.
17th to 23rd December 2009
.
i love the motto; "Reveal Your Talent, Be A Champion"
.
.
and as usual, i am not excluded from being involved in this event. im not the athlete though, but one of the working committees who have been working hard since last semester.
.
im in charge of Marching for the mahallah or in other words, the manager for the game. handling 30 people isn't that easy. fortunately i got an assistant. the training has been started every night; 9 to 12, since last week and will keep going until the last day a.k.a the closing ceremony of this event which is on the 23rd december. my night is being spent at the basketball court these days. lol.
.
for the centre level, i'll be in charge of the preparation and technical bureau for basketball game.
.
the 'best' part is that i'll be skipping class. HELLLLLLLLLLL.
.
wish i won't be missing a lot ;(
.
do come and support us, IIUM-ers!
.
RLSC 2009; another tiring day.
We just had this small event this morning till about 2 hours ago. It was the Room Leaders Short Course, Mahallah Asiah, 2009.
.
As one of the MRCs, I was apparently not excluded. Yeah, for sure. The worst part was that I was the MC for the event. With all mistakes I did, plus the clumsiness, I’d be one of the best nominees to receive ‘the worst MC’ award. Sucks. Me.
.
the MRCs.
the doesn't-deserve-a-caption one.
a great combo :]
.
But still, it was obviously fun. and i did eat a LOT. Full stop.
it's such a good start. i guess.
lThe new semester has just started about 6 days, 1 hour and 58 minutes ago. As usual, most classes have already begun. It’s only four days per week but the schedule seems to be full. Got only 15 contact hours this semester; am not to be narrow-minded but I don’t think I’d make good grades with loads of curricular activities. (what the hell, study lagi penting kott). Whatever~
anyway, I dropped Public Speaking and Contemporary Issues class just because I wanna have a break from having night classes this semester. Night classes are horrible. They just make me sick; my schedule gets mixed up when there are night classes. Fine, I’ll be taking the subject next semester.
Another subject that was successfully dropped is Creative Thinking and Problem Solving. And the reason is because it’s been my dream since years ago to have only one class in a day. So basically, my class schedule for Mondays and Wednesdays is so full while Tuesdays and Thursdays will be the heavenly days. Owh, no classes on Friday. Hoorayyyyy~
There are 3 BIG events coming and I got such a BIG commitment to all of them. University Sport Carnival on 17th to 23rd December, Inter-Mahallat Cultural and Debate Week on early January, and ASEAN Logics Conference on coming 2nd February.
Apparently I am damn hectic these days. This semester will be the busiest one that I’ve ever had so far.
however, these photos are obviously a contradiction to everything I just posted.
'2012', KLCC, Dec 10, 2009
the babes; Ruqayyah, Sha, Sakinah, Fatin, & me.
This is just the way I live. to be specific, the way i prefer to live. No matter how busy I am, I’d never put off the dates with the besties. Lol.
into the new beginning.
"If you can imagine it, you can achieve it.
If you can dream it, you can become it"
-William Arthur-
the final examination result is already out. thank God though it's not with flying colors but at least i managed to pass the worst subject ever; History of The English Language. opps, correction. the subject isn't worst, it was me who had so much troubles in handling this subject. it is an amazing one for those who love history and can remember all those phonetics whatever stuffs. the lecturer is amazing too. gonna miss you, Dr Normala.
the rest is just owh-kayyy. most unexpectable is Islamic Ethics. got A- for that. i didn't study well for the test but mind you, i did goreng2 like crazy in the exam hall. so i guess it worked ;)
but the one i'm happy with is that i got A for the Presentation Skills & Critical Thinking class. you'd have no idea how hard it was for me. preparing a speech about every two weeks wasn't as easy as ABC for someone who is damn lazy and loves to procrastinate like me. so yea, im extremely excited and just can't wait for the next level- Public Speaking and Contemporary Issues. will this clumsy plus nervous-to-death girl be a good public speaker? we'll see :)
done with the result, the new semester will be beginning in about 4 days from now. though i don't want to go back so badly, i also can't wait to start everything all over again.
i wanna do my very best. this time will be the VERY VERY BEST. that's a PROMISE. a promise to God, to the beloved parents and to myself.
though this coming semester will be the busiest one ever- loads of BIG events waiting, but insyaAllah i'll face them properly. wish the love ones will always be by my side, supporting me. you guys know who and how important you are to me.
fly high. be extremely great!
and reach the happily-ever-after ending! :)
A visit to the other family’s.
above is the picture of me and the sister-like BFF of mine, years ago. we were so damn close back then that i often spend time with her kindred too, especially the siblings. though she is studying abroad now, i always find time to pay them a visit but obviously I rarely managed to do so.
my favorite; Nur 'Uzma Nabihah.
another sweethearts;
Nur Fatini Zahirah and Nur Irdina Fasihah.
plus the one-year-and-a-half-old youngest;
Hafiz Hakimi.
^-^
i'm so freaking glad to always be welcomed with open arms by this family. fyi, the BFF, Annis Athirah is the eldest out of 10. and i'm lovin' it; kids never fail to please me ;).
.
Even the second youngest thought that i'm actually her real sister who is abroad now and called me 'Along'. that was deeply moving for me T_T. but don't worry Along, nobody can ever replace you!
These people have become a part of my life. thus i wish the relationship will remain forever.
i miss you fucking much, Along! Loves~
